  • Getting Started.

  • Making a call
    • Press either the Contacts icon or Phone icon in the top-left of the home screen. Alternatively, you can also lift the handset receiver which immediately opens the Phone app.
    • If you are in the Contacts app, use the keyboard to enter the name of the contact you are wanting to call. They will need to be a saved contact to enable them to be found.
    • Pressing the name of the contact will show a smaller pop-up of their contact details. Press on their number to call them.  You can also quick call some contacts if they have the ‘Call Extension’ button to the right of their name when they first appear.
    • If you are in the Phone app, you have access to your full alphabetical contact list which you can scroll through to find the name and choose the number you want to call the person on. You will also find all your recent calls in the Phone app, including your missed calls, so you can easily ring contacts back from this list.
    • If you are calling an unknown contact, use the keypad to the left to enter the number you wish to call. Pressing the green phone icon will begin your call.

    TIP: If you know the person you are calling is not a saved contact, press the green Phone icon from the home screen to get to the keypad screen quicker, or lift the handset receiver.

  • Adding a contact
    • To add a new contact press the green Phone icon on your home screen. Then use the keypad to enter the number and it will be displayed in the main part of the app.
    • To the right of the number, it will give you the option to “add to contacts”. Press on this option. 
    • A pop-up will appear, asking whether to add this number to an existing contact or to create a new contact. To add to an existing contact, press this option and another pop-up will appear, asking you to find the contact. Type in the name and select the contact that you wish to add the number to. If you are creating a new contact, press this option, enter their details and save.
    • If you are wanting to save a number in the Phone app, click on the relevant contact in the list. Press the number and a pop-up will appear, asking whether to add to an existing contact or to create a new contact. You can then follow the same process as before.

    TIP: When adding a contact you can assign an image to that contact’s profile which will then be seen everytime you get a call.

  • Transferring a call
    • Whilst on a call, press the Phone or Contacts icon in the top-left of the screen to locate the contact you want to transfer to.
    • Select the number or extension you want to transfer the call to from their contact details. This will automatically put the caller you’ve been speaking to on hold. You can also use the keypad to type in a number if they are not a saved contact.
    • To transfer, call the contact you want to transfer the call to. Once you have connected to the contact, press the transfer button and the two calls will be connected. A message will appear to tell you the calls have been connected.
  • Putting a call on hold
    • During a call press the hold option to put a caller on hold.
    • Once the caller is on hold, you can resume the call by pressing the resume option to take you back to the caller.

    TIP: You can press the Direct Transfer button located on the Contacts screen to transfer a call without consulting with the recipient.

  • Setting favourite contacts
    • To add a contact to your Favourites list, go to the Phone app and find the contact you wish to favourite.
    • Press their name and a pop-up will appear. Click on the star icon at the bottom of the pop-up. This will then add the contact to your Favourites list which will appear on your home screen and your Favourites list within the Phone app.

    TIP: To view your Favourites on your home screen, you will need to add the Favourites widget.

  • Phone Settings

  • Configuring Call Forwarding
    • Go into the Phone settings, which can either be found by clicking the icon to the top-right of your contact list or through the pink coloured Settings icon on the homescreen.
    • Under Call Options, there should be a setting called “Configure call forwarding”. Press this and a pop-up will appear.
    • You can now amend your call forwarding based on your requirements, by moving the toggle to the right of each option on and off.
    • Each selection gives you the choice to enter in a number (e.g. mobile number) or select a contact from your contact list. If you select this option, it will take you to an alphabetical list of your contacts so you can select the person/group you wish to forward calls on to.
    • These settings give you the options to ‘always forward’ ‘forward when busy’ and ‘no answer forward’, giving you a range of choices for your requirements.
  • Setting a personalised ringtone
    • To access your Phone settings, open the folder on your home screen and press the Phone settings app. Scroll down to the Sound option.
    • Select the phone ringtone option and a pop-up will appear. You can listen to all the pre-programmed ringtone options. To save your new choice, remember to press save at the bottom of the pop-up.
  • Lock/Power Button
    • On top of your tablet device, there is a button to the left which is both your lock and power button. To lock your device, press the button once.
    • To unlock your device, press the button again. It will then show you your locked home screen. Swipe upwards to unlock. If you have a security pin, you will need to enter this to unlock your device.
    • To turn the power off or restart your device, long press the button and two options will appear to the right of your screen. If you choose to restart, your device will automatically restart itself. If you choose to power off, you will need to long press the power button to turn it back on.
  • Setting the volume of your HiHi2
    • To adjust the volume on your device, press the larger volume button on the top of your tablet. Pressing the left button lowers the volume and pressing the right button increases the volume. This will adjust the volume of your ring.
    • To adjust the volumes on other settings, press the volume button and touch the downward arrow on the screen pop-up, where you can adjust the volume of the media settings (ie. sound/video) and alarm. These settings can also be adjusted using the touchscreen when the pop-up shows.
  • Adjusting the display brightness
    • To adjust the brightness of your display, swipe downwards on your tablet. This will bring down your Notifications Drawer, which also contains some shortcuts to your Phone settings.
    • Under the row of setting icons, to the right of the drawer, there is a small drop-down arrow. Press this arrow to expand the settings section.
    • At the top of the drawer a bar will have appeared; this is your brightness setting. Swipe the icon along the bar to adjust the brightness of your display. The further to the left the brightness will decrease, the further to the right the brightness will increase.
    • Pressing anywhere on the screen (but not on the Notifications Drawer) will save your adjustments.
    • Alternatively, you can go into your Phone settings through the folder on your home screen, select the Display option and adjust your brightness level there.
  • Your Device, Your Way

  • Changing your wallpaper
    • To change your background, long press on your home screen, until a row of icons appear at the bottom. Select the wallpapers option.
    • If you haven’t used this option before, it will ask you the application you want to use to find your background;
    • If you use the Gallery application, this will give you images which are stored on your device.
    • If you have a Google account signed-in, you will have access to all your photos which are stored in your Google Photos.
    • You can also use third-party applications for wallpapers which may be displayed in this menu.
    • Select the photo that you wish to use. It will display to the size of the screen. Long press the chosen wallpaper while swiping left/right, up/down or zooming in or out to reposition it.
    • Once you are happy, press the select wallpaper option in the top-left corner. Your wallpaper will have updated itself.
    • Alternatively, you can open the folder on your home screen to access your Phone settings app. Scroll down to the Display option and select Wallpaper. It will then request which application you wish to select your wallpaper from. You can then follow the process as above (3).
  • Signing into Google Play Store
    • HiHi2 is a certified Google device, giving you access to the Google Play Store and its suite of apps. To access, click on the Play Store icon on the bottom left-hand of your home screen.
    • When you initially click on the icon, you will be greeted with a “Sign In” screen. If you already have a Google account, enter your email address and password to sign in. If you don’t already have an account, you can create one by clicking “Create account”.
    • Once you are signed in, you will have access to the Google Play Store, with the ability to download any app to your device.*
    • *: HiHi/your system provider does not offer support for any third-party applications or your Google account. For support, you will need to contact either Google or the third-party.

  • Adding widgets to your home screen.

      Widgets: A widget is a simple app extension that is part of a larger app installed on your device. Widgets come in all shapes and sizes, many are customisable and reside on your home screen, usually as a quick-access shortcut to the app. Not all apps have a widget, while some have multiple variations.*

    • HiHi2 is a certified Google device, giving you access to the Google Play Store and its suite of apps. To access, click on the Play Store icon on the bottom left-hand of your home screen.
    • When you initially click on the icon, you will be greeted with a “Sign In” screen. If you already have a Google account, enter your email address and password to sign in. If you don’t already have an account, you can create one by clicking “Create account”.
    • Once you are signed in, you will have access to the Google Play Store, with the ability to download any app to your device.*
    • *: Except the widgets listed under the Phone category, all other widgets are Google/third-party applications. HiHi/your provider does not offer support for these.

  • Voicemail

  • Accessing your Voicemail
    • To access your messages, click on the Voicemail icon on the home screen.
    • This will take you to all your voicemails, where you can play them individually and easily scroll through the message to repeat certain sections.
    • To delete messages, just swipe left on the message bar which will remove it from your voicemail.
  • Changing your voicemail greeting
    • To change your voicemail greeting, pick up the handset receiver and dial 5555. You will be taken to your voicemail system, where you can amend your greeting.
    • You may be auto-dialled into the system or you may be prompted for a pin. If you are unsure of your pin, you will need to contact your provider’s technical support team.
    • Alternatively, to reach your voicemail system you can dial your own number using the keypad or through the Phone app.

  • HiHi There

    HiHi There is our mobile app that allows you to make free video calls to anyone with a HiHi phone from your mobile or tablet. As a HiHi user, you can invite non-HiHi users to video call by supplying them with a unique link. They will need to have

    • To invite a non-HiHi user to a video call, swipe upwards on your home screen to open your Apps Drawer. Scroll down until you find the app called Video Invite, which has the HiHi There logo.
    • A pop-up will appear which will have auto-filled your name and your direct dial number. Type in the recipient’s name and either their email address or mobile number.
    • Press send, and the app will send on the unique link to the recipient’s number or email address.
  • What won't I be able to do myself?

    The vast majority of the advice here is centred on how you can tailor the HiHi2 to meet you needs, i.e "Your Device, Your Way". However there are some things you will need our help for, namely:

    • Connectivity Issues
    • Password Reminders (excluding device PIN and Google Account)
    • Hunt Group Setup
    • Auto Attendant Setup
    • Group Voicemail Setup
    • Name Changes
    • Any other system programming
